What it’s Like Learning from the Best
I am the office beginner. I entered college, like many people, not knowing where I would end up or what I would be doing with my life once my degree had been earned. Four years and three degree changes later, I am incredibly thankful to be able to say I’ve got most of it figured out. 1st Service Solutions has given me a lighted path to a bright future in the commercial real estate industry and what would 1st Service Solutions be without its founder, Ann Hambly. I have had the privilege of growing up with a strong business role model to learn from that happens to also be a woman. Ann leads with power and grace. She makes it a priority to always be open with people but at the same time doesn’t always let what may be going on show on her face. Being able to watch as she started her company and to eventually be a part of that company has pushed me to strive to make things happen, to be determined in my endeavors, and to be the best that I can be so that one day I too am called a role model. I know all of this is possible because of Ann. Every day I enter the office with a feeling of pride. In this place I feel my voice will be heard and my opinions are no less important than any of my co-workers. It is truly a place that aides in growth not only as a professional but as a person.  Even as a beginner in commercial real estate my ideas are taken seriously.  I have learned more working for Ann and 1st Service Solutions in the past six months than I expect I would have while working somewhere else for three years.

As I near the end of my undergraduate career and begin the transition into being a full time employee, I will do everything I can to earn my way out of being the “beginner” and into being someone that the new beginners go to when seeking guidance. I may be the beginner now but won’t be for long
