Do you have all of the ingredients?

My father makes the most amazing pumpkin bread. He has made it for years. Every time the fall season rolls around, we always know it’s time for his famous pumpkin bread! He has made it so many times; he has the recipe and ingredients memorized and his pumpkin bread is amazing.

Our CEO, Ann Hambly has all the ingredients for CMBS. She has worked on the servicing side and has now been on the borrower side for 10 years. Through her experience, she has come to really know the ingredients and what needs to be changed to alter the outcome, to alter the “taste”.

If given a list of ingredients without a recipe, you will know what needs to go into the pumpkin bread, but you will not know the order of how they are to be mixed together nor the correct amount of each ingredient. If you do not mix all of the dry ingredients together and sift out all clumps, your pumpkin bread will not turn out how you would like. If you add a little too much of one ingredient, you won’t have the outcome you desire. The same is true for a CMBS restructure or assumption. You may know the right ingredients but it is highly likely that someone who is known for their incredible pumpkin bread will make a better pumpkin bread than someone who has only made it a few times.

Plus, why bake pumpkin bread when you know the best pumpkin bread baker? At least with pumpkin bread, you don’t have millions of dollars at stake.
