Mark Banegas

Chief Revenue Officer

Mark Banegas has what most people don’t—an appreciation for the big picture and an understanding of how to make it happen. CEOs value his insight, IT teams consider him ‘one of them.’ It’s a rare combo and it’s been the key to Mark becoming a sought-after business and technology executive who has 25+ years of experience bridging the business-IT divide. “I go between the two areas by translating ‘business speak’ into ‘IT speak’ and vice-versa,” Mark explains. “Just by their nature they typically speak different languages and that frequently sets them up to misunderstand one another and that’s where the problems start to arise. That’s where I come in—to bridge the gap between the executives and the technical teams. It’s what I call ‘the friction zone.’”

As a certified Project Manager Professional (PMP), Mark has helped dozens of companies (including Fortune 500 companies) execute, facilitate, and achieve their strategic and financial goals. “To become a PMP, is not an easy process. It’s a very bullish process; they want to be sure you know what you’re doing before you’re given the certification.

“In a nutshell it means to take a disciplined approach to carrying a project through from concept to completion. That can involve risk management, product development and testing, and full-scale execution of a well-developed business plan. It means understanding not just the mechanics of an organization and their respective assets, but also helping them to achieve their objectives and maximize their potential.” In his role as the Chief Business Officer for 1stService Solutions, Mark is charged with all this and more. “We are on the brink of something big here,” he says. “There is so much knowledge and experience and means of helping our clients just within our group of professionals, you can’t help but be excited. The potential we have to serve the CMBS market exceptionally well is off-the-charts.”

With family ties out of state, Mark splits his time between D/FW and Crossville, Tennessee. His blended family of five kids and one grandchild are scattered across the country but make for fun times when they’re all together. In his rare down times, Mark can also be found playing golf or hitting the ski slopes.
