Morningstar Credit Ratings LLC Managing Director April 2011 – November 2017
● Head of Operational Risk Assessments for Morningstar Inc.’s Rating Agency subsidiary, a nationally Recognized Statistical Rating Organization (NRSRO), reporting directly to the President of the rating agency.
● Responsible for all assessments of operational noncredit risk of entities involved in structured transactions including loan servicers, loan originators, due diligence providers, special servicers and third-party vendors. This includes evaluation of business planning, technology, personnel, training, regulatory compliance, organizational structure, internal audit, functional efficiencies, and accompanying metrics for said entities.
● Also responsible for drafting and dissemination of operational risk criteria, collection of performance metrics and publishing of all report and commentaries relating to same.

● Head of Servicer Evaluations for North America, a multimillion dollar business involving assigning operational risk ratings for companies that service loans.
● Responsible for servicer rankings, report publications, commentaries and criteria development for commercial mortgage, residential mortgage and asset backed clients in the United States and Canada.
● Directly manage a team of ten senior analysts in New York and also have dotted line responsibility for Servicer Evaluations personnel in regional offices.
● Assist regional teams with criteria development and analytical support. Frequent speaker at industry conferences in all different asset classes.
● Interface with heads of various structured finance disciplines to provide information and support on operational risk issues for securitized transactions.
● Supported and oversaw development of automated data warehouse platforms to store commercial and residential servicing metrics.

● Lead analyst in the Servicer Evaluations business responsible for rankings of commercial mortgage servicers.
● Directly responsible for team of analysts focused on commercial servicers as well as criteria development. Interfaced with officials from the FDIC and the RTC to rank contract services for both entities.
● Charged with expanding the company’s Servicer Evaluations business in Europe, Japan and Latin America.
● Established first rankings of servicers in Italy, the United Kingdom, Japan and Mexico and was instrumental in establishing business units to pursue servicer rankings in each of our regional offices there. Set up relationships with vendors for publication of reports and commentaries.
● Responsible for ranking and analysis of over twenty major commercial mortgage servicers in the U.S. annually.
